Chippy's in the News

♥Here's a little story about our first year. Written in November 2012, we were open just a few months at this point.

♥Here's an article by Kay Stellpflug, a local writer, trainer and motivator. In this particular article she shares the goodness of gifting food, naming Chippy's as one that she often gives.

♥Here is an article about some work Linda has done outside of Chippy's to promote and encourage folks to volunteer their time with the launching of Volunteer Dodge

♥Linda was awarded the 2019 Chamber Member of the Year. Linda had attended the Annual Chamber banquet every January for 7 years, but was unable to attend the January 2020 event. Lo and behold, this particular award, which is always kept secret until the night of the event, belonged to her. She laughs saying "They sure know how to keep a secret! I had no idea I was chosen for the award."

♥In the fall of 2019, Linda was invited to be one of the judges for the Dodge County Fair's Fairest of the Fair competition. It was her first time participating and she enjoyed meeting the 3 young candidates for interviews and dinner prior to final judging. Then the night of the fair, Linda and the other judges were in attendance to hear impromptu questions to the candidates and to cast the final votes.

♥In the summer of 2019, our Madison St. neighborhood Playground Movement was seeking to serve summertime meals to the kids in the community and they were looking for some tables. With a few social media taps, we had funds, materials, picnic tables and artists lined up to make the tables beautiful works of art for the kids and their families.

♥Chippy's has been a supporter of Badgerland Youth for Christ for several years, including the Annual Bowl-a-Thon that helps support the ministry reaching middle school and high school age kids in Beaver Dam and beyond.

♥We love being the Beaver Dam outlet to support our friends at Randolph Christian School in their Annual Dutch Apple Pie Fundraiser. The pies are made with WI apples, butter, sugar and cinnamon and are amazing! The Pie Team closes the school and works for hours upon hours to prepare and freeze the pies which then are sold frozen as "take-n-bake." Watch for the sale each fall.

♥For many years we have been a part of the Father's Day Car Show in Swan City Park. The group that ran it for several years, Cheese Wheel, Inc., has donated thousands to children's charities from this event.

♥In September of 2019, we welcomed the team from Around the Corner with John McGivern to our shop for filming and an interview. We had so much fun and are completely humbled and honored to have been selected to receive an interview. The episode will be released on April 23, 2020.

♥Fiesta Beaver Dam was brought back again in the summer of 2018 and then changed location for 2019. Chippy's was a sponsor of the event both years and also participated by having a booth to sell kettle corn. We're thankful to have a great Chamber and folks working to create great events in our city.
